The Magicians Series - Book Cover Design
The Magicians by Lev Grossman Series Book Cover Design. I created a set of three book covers for the ‘The Magicians’ Trilogy. The original covers for this series are incoherent and don’t convey the theme or the stories well and I felt that these books needed new covers. I chose to commission a series of illustrations. My idea takes the idea of The Neitherlands, a magical world between other worlds, with fountains that take you to each of them. Each of the covers has the main fountain illustration with different imagery on top to represent images from the individual books. The fountains are offset on each of the covers so that when the spines are together the fountain continues across them. Illustrations by Lili Catling-Fell, www.lilicatling.com
